Cissy Shi

Cissy Ruoyao Shi is a Toronto-based contemporary artist specializing in drawing and acrylic painting. She graduated Dawson college’s visual arts program in 2020, and she is currently studying in OCAD University drawing and painting program. Her art usually conveys strong emotions and ideologies. She believes only when a piece of art can move artists themselves, it can move people. Therefore, sex, sexuality, personal experiences, dreams, memories, and mental health are the most common themes of her works. To achieve more powerful visual effect, she likes to use colorful palette, eye-catching compositions, mixture of realistic and abstract, textures, even 3D elements in her practices.
